Synthesizing the Latest Information in Ecosystem Management and Conservation Biology
Project Abstract: Linking to the situational analysis implemented in the context of developing the new FORREX 2009-2014 Extension Program for the Ecosystem Management and Conservation Biology Cluster, a need for scientific, indigenous and experiential knowledge in order to maintain biodiversity at multiple scales in natural resource management was identified. Furthermore, the recently released report "Taking Nature’s Pulse: The Status of Biodiversity in British Columbia" (Austin et al, 2008) clearly identifies some of the key areas of focus where information is needed. Building up on this context, in this project the extension specialists and extensionists that encompass the Ecosystem Management and Conservation Biology cluster will deliver a variety of information products that provide the latest and most relevant scientific, experiential and Indigenous knowledge related to ecosystem management and conservation biology in BC, focusing on identified high priority issues.
