World Wide Web Products on Ecosystem Management and Conservation Biology

Project Abstract:
Linking to the situational analysis implemented in the context of developing the new FORREX 2009-2014 Extension Program for the Ecosystem Management and Conservation Biology Cluster, a need for scientific, indigenous and experiential knowledge in order to maintain biodiversity at multiple scales in natural resource management has been identified. Considering that the World Wide Web is one of the most effective and preferred ways of extending and outreaching this type of information and knowledge among the target audience of the Ecosystem Management and Conservation Biology Cluster, in this project the conservation biology extension specialist will develop and deliver a variety of World Wide Web products that will provide the latest and most relevant scientific, experiential and Indigenous knowledge related to ecosystem management and conservation biology, with a particular focus on the key issues identified in the FORREX 2009-2014 Ecosystem Management and Conservation Biology Extension Program.
